Riley Gaines Visit to Portland State University

This past Monday, May 5th, 2025, Riley Gaines made a highly anticipated appearance on the Portland State University (PSU) campus to give a free, educational speech on the dangers of biological men masquerading as the opposite sex in women’s sports.

She touched on the individual struggles she and her teammates faced as they navigated a new playing field being infested by woke ideologies. This became very apparent to them when they were in the women’s locker room undressing after a finished match. To their surprise, a 6’1” adult male knowingly proceeded to undress in front of them. The individual in question—a “transgender woman", so he claims to be—blatantly disrespected and violated the rights of every woman in the room. Since the incident, Riley has been extremely vocal and persistent in her advocacy for women’s rights within sports, collaborating with organizations such as Turning Point USA to reach more campuses each year, like the PSU event we’re discussing now.

Students on campus had a variety of reactions to her upcoming event, but the majority leaned toward disapproval, to put it lightly. For a very left-leaning campus with predominantly opposing beliefs ruling the environment, the show of support was rather astonishing, filling a good majority of the seating. However, outside the Student Union building where the speech was being presented, angry leftist anarchists filled the main entrances, harassing anyone attending the event and verbally assaulting officers trying to keep the peace.

A total of five arrests were reported by local news covering the event. While actively trying to rush the building doors, a Portland police officer was physically assaulted while attempting to push the so-called “peaceful protesters” away from the main entrance. It was a true display of the nasty characteristics shown by the deplorable Left.

I was gladly a part of the courageous crew that hosted Riley on campus and was thankful to meet so many wonderful patriots fighting for the true rights of students and adults in our great state and beyond. Seeing the impact and reach of our voices—and our persistence for absolute truth—has only made my drive to continue stronger, and I’m eager to see how the next semester will play out.

To the Turning Point crew at PSU: all of you did a wonderful job, and each of you will go far. I hope to create lasting relationships with all of you, and together we can be the real change for our generation and generations to come. With that being said, thank you for taking the time to read this update. My goal is to be more persistent and detailed in these posts, and I look forward to receiving feedback from both like-minded individuals and those who may disagree.
